As Executive Chef of Bowman’s Tavern, Thomas McGinn relies on the seasonal local ingredients of the area for inspiration when conceptualizing his menus. Born and raised in Richboro, Thomas developed a passion for cooking at a young age, assisting his mother in the kitchen once he could see over the counter. He parlayed this curiosity into a career as a young adult, enrolling and matriculating from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York.
Tom went on to hone his skills after school, working for Celebrity Cruise Lines, as well as The Garden of the Gods Country Club in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Moving home to be closer to family and friends, Tom met owner James Seward while working in the area. With a like minded attention to detail and fastidious dedication to providing a superior product, Tom joined James’ team at Bowman’s Tavern in 2013 as Sous Chef. Taking over the Executive Chef roll in 2017, Tom continues to push himself and his team in the kitchen, never allowing their creativity to stagnate.
Teaming up with a plethora of local farms in the area, Tom allows the ingredients to be the divining rod when conceiving new dishes. He is an avid believer in the mantra that quality ingredients will yield superior products. Outside of the kitchen, Tom is a woodworking enthusiast and occasional fisherman. He resides in Newtown with his wife, daughter, and dog, Frank.
