Before you come

Plan your visit.

River Road runs narrow and the towpath runs quiet. A little orientation, and the evening looks after itself.

Getting here

Off the road, onto the towpath.

We sit at 1600 River Road, New Hope, where the road follows the Delaware and the old canal towpath threads along beside it. Coming up from the village, keep the river on your right and watch for the white-sided tavern at the roadside; coming down from the north, it arrives just after the road bends to meet the canal.

There is parking on the property — pull in off River Road rather than leaving the car along the shoulder, which stays narrow in both directions. On a busy night the lot fills early, so an unhurried arrival is the kindest one.

By car

River Road (Route 32), a few minutes north of New Hope village. Parking is on the property.

On foot

The canal towpath runs right past the door — the last stretch of the walk is already a view.

Good to know

The questions guests ask.

Do I need a reservation?
A table is best reserved ahead on OpenTable — instant confirmation, no note needed. Walk-ins are welcome at the bar when there's room, especially on quieter evenings.
Is there live music?
Most evenings someone is at the piano. To see who's playing on a given night, the schedule keeps the calendar.
What's on the menu?
A seasonal kitchen, with a separate bar book for the hours at the piano. The menu changes with the line, so the board may differ a little from the page.
Do you host private events?
For private events and larger parties, send a note from the contact page and we'll talk through the evening.
Do you sell gift cards?
Gift cards are available — see the gift cards page for how to buy one.
How should I dress?
There's no dress code — come as you are, even straight off the towpath.
